9 Things you need to stop saying to yourself

Hello my Phat friends! Welcome to my blog. Today’s post is a list of things you need to stop telling yourself immediately!. (Seriously, please stop).

I hear people all the time talking negatively about themselves, hell I do it as well. It is completely counterproductive and doesn’t help you one bit. It makes you feel lousy, worthless, useless. Everything I guarentee you most definitely are NOT.

So without further ado let’s get this list started

9 things you need to stop telling yourself

That you are worthless. I guarentee you are definitely not worthless. Everybody has a purpose, some find it quickly in life. Others have to keep looking awhile.

That you are useless. This goes straight with the one above it. No one is useless!

Your weight defines you. This is completely untrue. You are so much more than a number on a scale.

Life has to be “perfect“. I know the feeling of wanting everything “just right”, but honestly you are just setting yourself up for disappointment. Some of the best things that happen in life are unplanned, enjoy them.

The world would be better off without you. This thought use to cross my mind quite a bit, and honestly it couldn’t be further from the truth. Like #1 says, everybody has a purpose.

Everything will change once you are “the perfect weight”. If you are constantly unhappy with yourself, normally that feeling is something “the perfect weight” won’t fix.

That you will never be happy. It’s perfectly fine to live a “normal” life. Case in point (I took makeup artistry and design in college, I thought I could be a famous makeup artist. What do I do now? I work fulltime as a cleaner. The pay isnt great, but it gives me a steady paycheck with evenings and weekends off. Honestly now, I’d rather have my own time to do what I please).

You can’t wear clothes thin people wear. I will say this a trillion times if I have to. You can wear WHATEVER you want to. It doesn’t have to be a certain size, weight, height, or gender to wear certain articals of clothing or styles/color. You do you, and wear whatever makes you happy.

That you are stupid. I guarentee this is definitely NOT true!. Have you made some not so smart decisions in life? Most likely, but honestly who hasn’t?. Everybody messes up from time to time. None of us are perfect, and why would you want to be?.

Let’s round this up

Those are just 9 things that resonate with me. Being honest these are things I have previously said to myself, and they couldn’t be further from the truth. Everyone has talents, you are NEVER going to be good at everything. And that’s okay. It’s what makes you unique and special.

Everyone has something to offer, no one is useless! Does anything on this list resonate with you? Let me know in the comments something that you are going to stop telling yourself.

Till next time

Tanya xoxo

  1. I agree with all of these and unfortunately before rewriting my subconscious I, too was guilty of telling myself all these things and you are right they are not true! And we need to learn to stop that negative inner critic within us

  2. Totally agree with all of this!! I’m still trying to work out my feelings about my body, and it’s so tough to dismiss everything that society is telling us, but we truly need to for our own happiness and peace of mind ❤️

    1. I completely agree with you Renata. Its so much easier to be nasty to yourself. It’s hard especially now because pretty much everywhere you turn they are telling you negative stuff

  3. Love this girl!! I can totally relate to every single one of them!! I still say them when I’m having one of those days, but it takes time to snap out of it!! Keep going, I’m lpving all the positive vibes you give!! Xx

  4. I have definitely been guilty of saying these things and probably if I am completely honest… Much worse!

We really can be our own worse enemies.

Great post, so much positivity x x

  5. Thank you so much for writing this! It’s amazing how much my mind is filled with negative self-talk, and you pin-pointed a few key phrases that have are usually bouncing around in my head. Thank you for reassuring me that I’m not the only one who feels this way and combating these thoughts with some super powerful positive thoughts! Great post!! ❤

  6. Thank you for this list, it was really inspiring. I say a lot of these things to myself. I’m a actress and sometimes I’ll blame myself and the way my body looks when I’m not cast. I’ll beat myself up for not trying to be rail thin, when really there could be any number of factors that go into casting. I try to remind myself that my value and worth are not tied up in my physical appearance, but it’s hard. Again, thank you for this post, I’m really glad I read it.
